Black Bear Vitals - April 29, 2008
Added by: IdahoSportsman

Here is the North Idaho Black Bear, if you are planning to hunt spring bear you are in for a treat!

We have put together, like aour elk vitals, a diagram for black bear. As you can see bear have a lot of bone protecting the vitals, but their vitals are very compact so if you shoot you most likely would shoot for lungs. Black bear have a lot of arteries also as you can see below, but to save your self some tracking and a possable loss of you animal, you may want to be conservitative when shooting your bear.

As you can see from the below image that bear have thick muscle and a lot of them so keep that in mind when shooting. And among the muscle there is fat and hide that you have to penetrate. Usually when you make a kill shot on a bear from short range you will hear a death moan. Hopefuly this article helps you make an ethical and safe shot on your sping or fall bear this year!
